Pregnancy Update: Week 18

This week little one has been moving a lot more in mama's belly especially after I eat a meal. I'm guessing baby is enjoying the food I'm eating. It's amazing how much I can feel BH movement now. Before it was little flutters here and there and now its more frequent and a little stronger, even my husband can feel it! This week is also the week where baby may be able to hear us! So lately hubby and I have been talking to BH. It's so cute to see my husband rub my belly and talking to BH =) I can't wait to see his face when BH is here. I just know he'll be a great father.

How far along? 18 Weeks! Almost halfway.
Weight gain: 4lb. total
Maternity clothes: None so far. I'm living off of leggings, tights and sweater dresses.
Stretch marks? None. Crossing my fingers that it will stay like this.
Sleep: A lot better now. I've been cuddling with two body pillow so I think that helps. Also I've noticed that I'm able to stay awake a lot longer now. In my first trimester, my bed time was around 9:30. Now I'm up until 10:30 or 11. Still early from some but that's late for me LOL
Best moment this week: Finding out BH gender and seeing how much he/she have grown!
Miss anything? Being able to button any of my pants =/
Movement: Baby have been moving a lot especially during the morning and at night and after meals.
Food cravings: Tacos. I've bought stuff to make tacos and guacamole the other day. Also breakfast food (chicken biscuit and hash brown), orange juice, milk.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Still nothing.
Gender: We will reveal BH gender later on in another post =)
Symptoms: Slight posterior pelvic pain, shortness of breath, fatigue at time.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? I'm always happy =D
Looking forward to: This weekend. We're going furniture shopping for baby.

Our Bundle of Joy

Last Tuesday we were able to finally see our baby and oh my how big baby have gotten. The last time we saw BH was when I was 8 weeks and at that time baby was only a size of a raspberry and at 17 weeks, baby is the size of an onion!

BH is already showing traits just like his/her daddy. As the tech said, "It seems that this baby isn't a morning baby." Definitely got that from daddy LOL. BH was wrapped up like a pretzel when we saw him/her on the screen and would not move for us even when the tech was nudging on my belly to try to get him/her to stretch out. Funny thing is BH tends to move during the morning but for some reason baby was not in the mood that morning. After getting some of baby's measurement, we took a 5 minute break so I can walk around to try to get BH to stretch out. Baby finally stretch out after I did some jumping jacks and we were able to get the rest of the measurement as well as finding out baby's gender! Can't wait to share this on another post!

We are so happy to see baby growing healthy and strong and cannot wait to finally meet our little one.

Pregnancy Update: Week 17

Last Thursday I had my routine check up and I was able to hear baby's heartbeat! My doctor was using the fetal doppler to search for baby's heartbeat and said baby was moving around a lot from all the swooshing noise. She scanned baby's heartbeat and baby's heart rate was measuring at a healthy 150. Although I know baby is moving around a lot, I have yet to experience the feeling of baby kicks. It wasn't until later that day after lunch that I felt something. At first I thought it was just my tummy rumbling but then I notice it was happening quite frequently. I then knew it was BH! BH was moving around and I was able to finally feel it for the first time. I sometime still can't believe that I'm pregnant.

How far along?
17 Weeks! Officially 4 months pregnant.
Weight gain:  3lb. total. I think I'm starting to gain the weight a lot faster now that I'm in my second trimester.
Maternity clothes: None so far.
Stretch marks? Nope! I making sure I apply my oil and lotion everyday.
Sleep: The past few days has been rough. The other day was probably one of the worst sleep I had as I was tossing and turning, trying to find a comfy position. Ugh! I hope this doesn't last throughout the rest of my pregnancy.
Best moment this week: I finally felt BH move! It felt like bubbles popping and I'm sure it was baby moving around. My husband felt BH movement too when he place his hand on my belly.
Miss anything? Being comfortable. Lately I've been having this sharp shooting pain down my left buttock. I did some research online and from the symptoms I think it is posterior pelvic pain. It sucks so bad that I even cried at one point because with even the slightest move I made the pain would hit me all of a sudden.
Movement: YUP! See my Best moment this week above.
Food cravings: Tacos. I've bought stuff to make tacos and guacamole the other. Can't wait for taco night =P
Anything making you queasy or sick? No.
Gender: We will reveal BH gender later on in another post =)
Symptoms: Posterior pelvic pain (mostly on my upper left buttock), minor headaches, and shortness of breath.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Of course Happy!
Looking forward to: Revealing the gender to our family and friends and seeing/hearing their reaction.

And So It Begins...

We are now in the process of turning the guest room into BH nursery.

The first phase is to clean and take everything out of the room. So far here is what it looks like now (I know, embarrassing right?) It was worst than this but we had clean/thrown out stuff the night before I took these pictures. I've also removed the old curtains and curtain rods. As for that other stuff that was in the room, they are currently being stored in the hallway and second bathroom.

*PS: can you spot Tobi in the picture?

And here is a quick mood board I put together for BH nursery. We don't know if BH is a girl or a boy yet, but I wanted to design the room to be unisex. I think my mood board suits both genders. The idea for BH nursery is to have the space light, simple and modern using clean lines with accent colors from the decor pieces.

There's still a lot left to do as we are still cleaning out the room. Hopefully we'll have the space cleared out  by the end of this week so we can start painting this weekend. Anyways, here is our list of to-do's for BH nursery:
  • clean out the room (still in progress)
  • paint the walls and maybe ceiling
  • purchase new blinds, curtain rods, and curtains
  • new rug?
  • ceiling light fixtures and table lamp
  • purchase crib
  • get a dresser and a closet
  • hang art
  • get a rocker/glider
This is only the beginning of our list and I'm sure we'll have to add more as we get into the groove of things. I can't wait until BH nursery comes together.

Pregnancy Update: Week 16

I swear my belly pop out overnight or something. I guess BH wanted to make sure everyone know that he/she is there. I'm actually looking forward to see my belly grow and actually looking pregnant LOL I've always think baby bump are the cutest.

How far along? 16 Weeks
Weight gain:  2lb. total
Maternity clothes: I've recently purchased some much needed tops but they're not maternity. I may need to start looking for maternity jeans soon or just wear leggings throughout my pregnancy since those are always comfy.
Stretch marks? None and I hope it stays like that. I just order another bottle of Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Stretch Oil. I'm liking it so far and of course the price isn't bad either.
Sleep: A lot better than before. I'm sleeping more throughout the night and I only wake up once to use the bathroom
Best moment this week: Seeing my belly grow. I woke up yesterday and notice how much more I'm starting to show now. Soon, I won't be able to hide this bump any more.
Miss anything? Being able to fit into my jeans LOL
Movement: None yet. Hopefully I'll feel baby kicks and punches soon.
Food cravings: The past few days I've been craving breakfast (chicken or bacon, egg & cheese) biscuits and hash brown and sometime sweet tea.
Anything making you queasy or sick? I don't and can't recall anything that makes me feel sick yet.
Gender: We get to find out next week!! =D
Symptoms: Still some fatigue, shortness of breath and minor backaches
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time? Happy most of the time but there are times when I have my moments LOL
Looking forward to: My next doctor appointment on Thursday.

Nursery Ideas

Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I can't help but think about how I am going to design BH nursery. Although we don't know if BH will be a girl or a boy, I alway knew I wanted to design the space in gray and white with a pop of color. Here are some inspiration pictures for BH nursery found on Pinterest.

I will most likely document the progress of BH nursery room once we start working on it. As of right now BH future room is serve as the guest room/storage room.

Pregnancy Update: Week 15

I'm officially in my second trimester since last week and I think I'm starting to see a little baby bump. How exciting to see my belly grow! I have my next doctor appointment in less than 2 weeks for an ultrasound which by then I'll be 16 weeks. The last one I had was when I was 8 weeks so I can't wait to see how much BH has grown since then. The following week I have my anatomy ultrasound. That will be the day we get to find out if BH is a boy of a girl. What do you guys think BH will be? Hopefully the next 2 weeks will go by fast!

As for symptoms, nothing to crazy besides being tired at the end of my work day. Lucky for me, my first trimester went by smoothly. I didn't have any morning sickness or vomiting. Occasionally I get nauseous but thats about it.

I've also got my appetite back and a lot of munchies. I've been munching like crazy between meals so I definitely have to make sure I pack healthy snacks to work. Lately I have been eating a lot of apples, peanut butter sandwich and veggies (surprisingly). I've also been drinking a lot of water, milk and orange juice. No crazy cravings yet.

Also, I thought this would be fun to fill out weekly to see the progression of my pregnancy. Enjoy!

How far along? 15 Weeks

Maternity clothes: None yet however I'm thinking about purchasing some maternity jeans since none of mine fits =(

Best moment this week: Sharing the baby news to one of our good friends.
Miss anything? Sushi and fitting into my pants/jeans.
Movement: None, still too early to feel any movement
Food cravings: I don't really consider this craving but daily I've been eating fuji apples and peanut butter sandwich w/ a glass of milk.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really. I've been fine so far throughout my pregnancy.
Gender: Will found out in 2 weeks! So excited!
Symptoms: Fatigue and backache
Belly button in or out? In
